Multi Structure Atrophy (MS)

NeuroQuant® Talking to your Doctor about Managing Multiple Sclerosis

Preparing for a doctor's visit helps you to get the best care possible for you or your loved one. Below you will find some information about multiple sclerosis, including some helpful information on discussing NeuroQuant with your physician.

NeuroQuant is a FDA cleared medical device that helps physicians detect and measure changes in brain anatomy. Physicians use NeuroQuant when making ongoing clinical assessments of changes in brain anatomy from diseases that cause neurodegeneration and brain shrinkage (atrophy), such as multiple sclerosis (MS).

Physicians use several evaluation tools in the continued care and management of multiple sclerosis. One option is having a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of your brain taken, which can be used for tracking and evaluations purposes. The NeuroQuant analysis is part of a physician prescribed MRI procedure.

NeuroQuant uses the images from the MRI scan to measure the volume of certain brain structures, which are important in monitoring brain changes caused from multiple sclerosis. A NeuroQuant report (see sample below) is then sent directly to your referring physician.

Discussing the Benefits of NeuroQuant with Your Physician

NeuroQuant can help physicians evaluate if there is volume change of certain brain structures (atrophy of the thalamus, whole brain and lateral ventricles are commonly seen in multiple sclerosis)

• In multiple sclerosis cases, NeuroQuant can be used for ongoing tracking by taking an initial measurement and then a comparing it to a follow-up measurement (taken at a later date) to see if the brain structure volume has changed and at what rate

• NeuroQuant can provide physicians with precise brain structure metrics to supplement clinic assessed functional outcomes, which are sensitive or responsive to change overtime NeuroQuant is a FDA cleared medical device that helps physicians detect and measure changes in brain anatomy.

Ongoing Management of MS Can Benefit Physicians, Patients and Caregivers

• Allows for exploration and evaluation of various treatment options

• Ongoing treatment with disease modifying therapies

• Less anxiety from a better understanding of what is happening

• Play an active role in disease management and make informed decisions

The Two Page Multi Structure Atrophy Report provides:

• Colored brain images captured from MRI

• Detailed measurements of 9 brain structures important in the assessment of multiple sclerosis

• Reference charts that display each of the 9 brain structures as compared to healthy individuals
